Easter Fun

HAPPY EA
STER TO ALL

It seems like I was just posting Christmas pictures on here; and now, the Easter Season came upon us and flew by before we knew it. We hope you all had a great Easter Day with family and friends. All my photos are of Easter eggs, chocolate bunnies, and Easter baskets. But, we know that the true meaning of Easter is the resurrection of our Savior Jesus Christ. How can we even understand all that He has done for us? We can study the scriptures, say our prayers, and learn of Him; and then, we can live as He has taught.

Now I get back to our Easter Sunday afternoon and fun with grandchildren (as always).

This is the Easter town that Maren, Braydon
and Gabi set up.
The "Easter Bunny" did a great job of hiding
the eggs
Drake did a great job of finding eggs. I
think he had the fullest basket. This is Syd showing me a confetti egg. I told
her that if she hit me with it she'd be in big
time trouble (nah, couldn't do it).
Easter was so much fun this year as we had an Easter egg hunt in the front yard, something we had never done before. In New York growing up, we always looked for dyed colored eggs inside the house. When we moved to Texas and saw people putting them outside, this was a new custom for us. But, we kept our family tradition going and hid them inside. Maren convinced me this year to have the Easter egg hunt outside on the lawn. I said "sure, why not"; and we had so much fun watching the grandkids look for eggs that I think we found another family tradition.

Cousins helping each other find Easter eggs.
That warms my heart.

Our lawn didn't look that great because of the
cold, cold winter with snow and frost. But it
made a great place to hide the eggs.

Who invented confetti eggs? Did they know
the mess it made especially on a windy
Easter Day in Southeast Texas?

I am so happy that Maren was the one
that tried to gather together 6 children
to get a picture of all of them. She did a
pretty good job!

A great picture of 6 grandchildren. Braydon
Hayes, Emma with Drake, Syd and Mark. Gabi
came later in the evening and Kaylin, Maren,
Jocie and Blake are far, far away in Las Vegas :(
Time for opening a few Easter treats from
Grandma and Grandpa. That is our job--to
spoil every single one of them. Syd and Emma
compare colors of nail polish.
Hayes shows off his "Karate Kid" movie (they
are waiting for the new one to come out) and
you can't have Easter without Pokemon cards.
Mark opens his treats which include the movie
"The Sandlot" and of course, Pokemon cards.Drake opened his treat, a Thomas the Train
video, found out he couldn't watch it just then,
and went to the Easter train and played with that.
Braydon is into Star Wars and was excited
with his new Star Wars figure.
Marshall and Shannon opened their Easter
basket and loved the "Big Ears" chocolate bunny.
Kyle and Holli were in Buna for early Easter dinner while we were having our Easter dinner and weren't able to make it for the big Easter egg hunt. So, the "Easter Bunny" had to come back and hide eggs all over again. That "Easter Bunny" must have been tired by that time of the day, and we think he ended up in a grumpy mood. He took it out on Gabi and made the eggs a little harder to find. But, there are always "angels among us"; and they gave Gabi a little bit of guidance.

Now it was time for Gabi to hunt for eggs. Watch
for her little ballet move to get the egg out of the tree.

Smart bunny putting one on the mailbox. Gabi
retrieved it before the mailman did on Monday!
The "Easter Bunny", whoops, I mean Uncle
(that's what Gabi calls him) gives a little help.
Gabi running to find all the eggs. No need to
run Gabi, they are all yours, every single one
of them! Can it be that there is a worm or some
other kind of creeping creature on my egg?

Gabi starts moving a little faster--she didn't
realize at first that she could have ALL the eggs.

Eggs on the truck? Come on now Mr. Easter
Bunny. She's smarter than you and
found them. HA HA!!!

She found all of the eggs, and now it was
her turn to open her treat bag. Ah, bubbles.
And of course, hers were pink!
Cinderella lip gloss--ya gotta love it.
A happy Gabi. sorry her eyes are closed but
she was so happy with her bag of treats.

Well, it was a fun day. And I get so much pleasure and joy in my life being around the grandchildren. They are innocent little beings who don't realize the trouble in the world and therefore can just enjoy their fun moments. Oh, to be a little child once again!!
Happy Easter one and all!!
See ya guys. I need to go hit the town in
my grandma's old sunglasses. Aren't I cute?
And no, Hatcher, you can't have my lollipop!
