We know from the scriptures that when our days on this earth are finished, we will enter the kingdom of heaven. I thought about that when we pulled up to the entrance of Greenwood Cemetery. The last time I was at this cemetery was when my Grandpa Eyrich had died. I was in High School at the time. Being younger at the time, I guess I didn't pay much attention to the surroundings.
This time it was different. This time we were entering to give my mom her resting place until the day of resurrection. Below is the entrance to the cemetery.
Isn't it beautiful?

This is my dad. He has a lot of trouble with the sun and these are his sunglasses that he wears over his glasses. He's cute isn't he? He is 90 years old, well almost, and he is as sharp as a tack and so quick witted.
It was a no makeup day after the little service was finished. Too many tears. And after looking at this picture (of the goodyear blimp) it is time for me to lose weight! Pictures reveal the truth, yuck!!

Being the family genealogist, I was so excited when I found the C. A. Viemeister mausoleum. His real name was Karl Augustus Viehmeister. Being the first ancestor to leave Germany, he entered the United States in 1849. He was my mom's great-grandfather who was the father of my mom's grandfather, George Albert Viemeister, and my mom's mother's maiden was Georgiana Wilhelmena Viemeister. To some, this may not be an interesting topic, but for me it was exciting.

Pulling away from the cemetery was so hard for me, the saddest day of my life. But seeing the spires of the entrance, I know my mom is in the Kingdom of Heaven with her mom and dad, other relatives that have passed away in many years past, and I know she has been in the presence of our Savior Jesus Christ.
Rest in peace mom, with those you love, until we meet again.
