Labor Day 2012

When we realized that everybody had off for Labor Day, except for Ryan who had to work until 4, we thought this would be a great time to get everybody together for a barbecue. Emma and Hayes were in town for their weekend with Chad and Meigan and we were so happy to know that they would be with us. My Labor Day did not include much labor. Yes, I shopped for meat and buns and a few other things, but I didn't have to do any of the cooking. Kyle barbecued some great hamburgers and hot dogs. Maren cooked some great links in the crockpot (those disappeared quickly), Meigan brought the dirty rice, Holli brought the potato salad, Shannon brought the baked beans, and Maren made cucumbers and vinegar. What a great feast. Of course my camera was out, well part of the time. Maren had come over earlier to get the table set and get her part of the meal ready. Isabella LOVES to have her picture taken and when she saw me take out my camera, she was ready to pose.
And Braydon needed to get his picture taken, too
You can see our little diva who loves to pose
Last month I found this pool on clearance at Target. We were finally able to get it set up so the kids could get wet. Maren blew up the pool by herself (she must have been full of hot air). This pool was so cute. The lions head was hooked up to the hose and it shot out water. Gabi was not too cool with it at first (she doesn't like water squirt into her face) but as the time went on she loved it. And Miss Isabella had no problems with the water as you can see.
Eventually we ended up with five of the grandkids in the pool; Isabella, Kyle, Holland, Gabi and Braydon. I think Braydon slipped just as I took the picture. I was amazed that five kids could fit in this pool. Getting wet was their main purpose and they didn't care how squashed they were in the pool.
Kyle liked the boat
...and he liked to kick his feet in the water
Little Miss Sophia wasn't able to get in the pool since she had just turned two months old. Aunt Maren loves this baby girl and Sophie likes her, too. Right now she kind of looks like "uh, what's going on here?"
We have been so blessed with wonderful grandchildren
And, Sophia had had enough of the camera going off. Her lip was beginning to quiver which was so sad.
We had a wonderful time together, great food to eat, fun watching grandkids; all 10 that were there. We were missing Drake who was with his Dad, and of course our Vegas troops. Maybe someday we will have all 15 of them together which would be fantastic.

I love that Maren still loves cucumbers with vinegar! And I love Sophia's lip quiver - it's the saddest/cutest thing ever when a baby does that.
