Our Trip to Branson

We went to Branson, Missouri for our 40th anniversary.  Driving there, we took the scenic route; the drive was longer, but the scene of beauty was fantastic.  I think if we had gone a week earlier there would have been more color, but what we saw was great.  We don't have fall here at home so this was a treat.
I call this my Isabella pose.  Whenever you ask Isabella to twirl around, she twirls and then puts her foot behind her.  She is better at it than I am.

God has created a beautiful world.

We laughed when we saw this sign.  Emma's room is usually a mess and Lela will give her the count down.  I am going to print this out in an 8 x 10 to put on Emma's door.
There is a place in Branson called "Shepherd of the Hills Trail of Lights".  The trail is 2 1/2 miles of Christmas lights and little scenes that they set up.  As we were driving through, I was thinking how fun this would have been with the grandkids along.  Seeing some of the little scenes reminded me of New York City and the windows at Christmastime.  Macy's windows are big memories for me.

I loved this little scene.  The church was not in an enclosure but out in the open.  The word "kircher" was on it which is German for church.

This is all made of Christmas lights.
The last time we went to Branson, which was about 11 years ago, this little scene was there.  I was happy to see it again..Santa playing the organ.  Oh, and there was music to go with it.  I forgot to tell you that the entire time you are driving there is Christmas music playing.
There was a whole scene with dinosaurs made out of Christmas lights.  They even moved.
Most of our breakfasts or brunches were at Cracker Barrel.  I loved pulling up to the parking lot because of this tree.
No matter where we drove, there was something fun to see.  We drove to a town about 25 miles from Branson to go to a store named Grizzly's.  This was Eric's dream store that sells woodworking supplies, from little ones to extra large ones.  While Eric looked at tools, I walked through the store and looked at cute things they had set up.  This was my favorite.

Aren't these pretty?  This is a collection of vases that Grizzly's came across.  If you click on the picture, it will enlarge and you will be able to see the intricate woodworking.

The Gatlin Brothers.  They were terrific.  Their opening act was Debby Boone and she was a fantastic entertainer with a beautiful voice.  I should have taken pictures of her.
Good old King Kong.  This was so real looking and I tried to convince Braydon when I showed him the picture that there really was a gorilla on the side of the building.  He didn't believe me (smart kid).
We went to the Bass Pro Shop which is the biggest in the United States.  The store was surrounded by this water with ducks and a walkway.

Proof that we saw the Oak Ridge Boys who should retire.  Very disappointed in the show.

We had a great time, the weather was great, the foliage was beautiful, and the food at Cracker Barrel was delicious.
