A Few Days before Christmas

Gabi is at the age where she loves American Girl dolls. I remember those times when Kaylin and Emma were at that age. While searching on line one day for some extra items for Gabi's Molly doll, I found that there was a Ruthie doll. My dad always called my mom Ruthie. The story of the Ruthie doll is taken during the times of the depression. Ruthie doll, depression, the way the doll was dressed--it was my mom.

Having the Ruthie doll meant a lot to me, and I decided I wanted it to be special for the girls in our family. These are pictures of my giving the dolls to Emma and Gabi. It was a love filled moment.
You can tell it was a relaxed day. Gabi with a shirt
over her fancy dress, me in my pajama pants and a
grubby shirt and Emma with her Katy High School
jacket. But, it was a tender moment.
Sorry, couldn't hold back the tears.
Gabi loved the story of Ruthie and how the doll
related to her great grandmother.
The tender moment of family love.
From heart to heart.
