Rain,, Rain Don't Go Away

We have been in a severe drought here in Southeast Texas. There have been wildfires; and one Saturday in a little town called Buna, 1400 acres were burned. Holli's parents live in Buna but far away enough from the fire. By this time of the year we should have had 16 inches of rain..we have had two. Everything is dying and I have reached a point of wondering when do you stop watering the plants and grass. When do you say "I will never get ahead of the 100 degree heat everyday that is burning up my grass and flowers and now is the time to stop watering"? We have had at least four days where the temperature has been over 100 degrees. Other days have been close to 100 degrees.

The church, through inspiration, asked us to fast and pray from Saturday evening until Sunday afternoon asking the Lord to please give us some tremendously needed rain. With much faith, the members did as asked and here are the results of our fasting and praying.

Monday afternoon around 3:30our prayers are answered. This is a view from the backyard. You can see where our lawn is dying. Our backyard lawn is usually plush and green all summer long. Looking outside the door at the dying grass is a sad sight to see. But the rain today was the happiest sight to see and a great faith builder.

I wasn't brave enough to just go out in the rain (didn't want to get my sling wet..pitiful excuse, right). The carport was my protection as I watched the rain fall in the front of the house. If you watch closely you can see the lightning.

This little video is exactly that, little. First of all, I can only hold the camera with one hand because I can't hold my right arm up. Add that to a big boom of thunder and this is what you get.

We are so grateful for the rain and for the answer to thousands of fervent prayers.
