Kyle has been Gabi's soccer coach for this season. He is a great coach and a wonderful Dad. Kyle's team consists of six little girls ages 5 and 6 and they absolutely adore Kyle. The parents of the girls think he's pretty cool, too (that's my boy). Friday and earlier Saturday morning we had tons of rain and we thought Gabi's game would be cancelled. But because the rain had stopped, the games were not cancelled; therefore, the mudfest began. These six little princess girls LOVE playing in the mud. No fears, just giggles. The team that played against us was missing three players which made this an interesting game for Kyle to figure out. You see, Kyle has a very tender heart; and to watch three girls have no substitutes broke his heart. So, he made a deal with the other team's coach that they would have 4 minute quarters instead of 8 minute quarters. The other team was able to rest a little bit more that way.
Kyle talking to Gabi
Isabella sits on Maren's shoulders to watch the game
You can see how deep the mud puddle was in the
middle of the field. The girls enjoyed every
minute of it
Now Isabella is on Papa's shoulders
Even Holland enjoyed the game
Our princess Gabi soccer player
Isabella, Maren and Braydon
While the other three girls were playing their quarter
of the game, the other three were with Braydon looking
in the puddle for frogs.
Gabi and friends hoping a frog will jump so they
can catch it
I guess they were thinking why play soccer when
we can have lots of fun in the mud
Gabi after the game...she was one of the cleaner girls.
The team at the end of the game. When you watch
the videos you will see why some of them are more
dirty than the other ones.
Gabi scores her first goal. Watch what happens to
the ball when it gets near the goal.
And they all fall DOWN!!!!!!
Almost!!
"OK, we are bored", no not really. Kyle had
told the girls to hang back so the other team could
have a break. Our parents are saying, "Wake up"
and Kyle is telling them "Stay back".
Gabi went in a circle to score this goal. We really
think she was killing time, you know...like Clint
Black sings, "This killin' time is killin' me"
This video really should be at the beginning of
the blog, but I messed up. Oh well, my mess is
not as bad as the mess in the goal. Kyle and one
of the dads used Maren's cooler to scoop some
mud and water out of the goal so the ball would
go through.
Kyle had Gabi stay back for part of the game so
she wouldn't keep scoring on the other team. But,
he finally let her have a kick at the ball to keep the
peace (you know, that "love at home" stuff)
By the end of the game, Holland had had enough
of watching six girls play in the mud and water. And
therefore....
the end!!
