December is here and I am loving the weather. Our nights have been cool, sometimes in the 30's. Now, I know a New Yorker like me has been through many a winter night much colder. But for the Texan in me, 30 is a cold winter night.
We are in Florida right now (I don't even know what town I am in), and tomorrow morning it is supposed to be 34. The clerk at the front desk was informing me of how strange this is for sunny Florida this time of year. He was funny and asked with all this cold weather, where is global warming? I didn't know if he was democrat or republican or I would have told him that global warming is anywhere Al Gore happens to be (probably on the internet he invented).
Our being in Florida is to be with Eric's mom on the anniversary of Eric's dad's death last year on December 7th. There are very special times and meaningful times when you want to be with the ones you love. And this Sunday is one of them. We will probably cry a bit and laugh a bit because that's what families are for. And they also are for forever, the knowledge that keeps us trucking on until we can be with our loved ones again.
