Happy Birthday Braydon

Age, I feel, is not determined so much by a number; but it is how one feels inside. Going back in time I can remember when my parents turned 50 and remembering how "old" they were. Now that we are in our fifties, I feel that we are quite young. My definition of how old you really are is "how old are your children now, or how old are your grandchildren". Knowing that we have a son who will soon be 36 and a granddaughter that just turned 14, that makes me realize how old we are getting. It seems like only yesterday when Gabi was born and 5 weeks later Braydon was born. It was September 2005 and we were evacuating because of Hurricane Rita. And two precious little newborn babies evacuated with us. To see them in the pictures and videos below along with their cousins Emma (13) and Hayes (10), I see how quickly my life is zipping by. Enjoy the pictures and videos of our family (just wish they all could have been there).

Singing Happy Birthday
OK, we sang, now let's cut the cake
Maren made the cake and Braydon tells her
which piece he wants.
The Davis Family was there to help celebrate.
Braydon loves Mitchell and Marissa, and Don
and Gena are like the younger version of
Grandparents for Braydon. He calls Gena
Grandma Gena and sometimes calls her Judy
(we haven't figured that one out yet)
Time to open presents. Now to the good part.

Braydon loved every minute of opening presents

Say cheese!!!
The rule is you have to read the card first.
And Ryan says, "Hmm I like that transformer
too. Please share Braydon" (Bumblebee the
Autobot is Braydon's favorite)
Braydon was so excited that Uncle Marshall
and Aunt Shannon got him a real GI Joe plane.
What could be inside this bag?
Our family is too addicted to Target gift cards!!
Watch and see.
Oh my gosh, a "reel" fishing pole from dad.
Now we can go fishing again.
I liked this pinata. No bat is involved. No fear
of some child getting whacked in the head.

Let the candy fall where it may.

Time to fill up your candy bag.

Emma and Mitchell help Princess Gabi fill
up her candy bag.

Gabi is always smiling and posing for the
picture. If I had a smile like that, I would
pose, too.
Hayes and Gabi having fun together.
(don't ask me why this is underlined-I am
blog illiterate)

When I saw this picture of Gabi and Hayes,
I thought "my goodness they could be
brother and sister".

It's always the best when you get to play with
some of the toys before you go home. I think
Santa needs to bring Gabi a remote control
Barbie car. I am sure Braydon and Hayes
would love to battle out their cars with Barbie's!

Gabi says, "The heck with baby dolls. I like
these remote control cars"

Well as you can see Braydon had a great birthday.
Next birthday is Rich's (he just
got a new truck so no remote control
car for him). Then comes
my Birthday. I just got a new car after
11 years so I don't want a remote control car either.
I'll take the Target gift card!!

Braydon has the cutest little voice. And I'm with you with the Target gift card. Nothing could be better.
