We Are So-o-o-o-o Excited

Abraham Lincoln has something to celebrate today other than his birthday (in heaven of course). Chad asked Meigan to marry him and we are so excited. The plan, at first, was to get Meigan's parents and us to go to lunch; and Chad was going to propose to Meigan there. Because of other things that were on our calendars, lunch wasn't a possibility. I told Chad, call Maren and work out something at Baskin-Robbins.

Petersens and ice cream, what can I say. Put the two together and nothing can go wrong. Maren asked Meigan if she could pick up Braydon at Baskin Robbins because I just couldn't get everything done that I needed to do today. She goes to Baskin Robbins and doesn't know that Chad is in the back of the store. To Meigan's surprise, we and Meigan's parents walk into the store. We told her what a coincidence that we bumped into each other. Out comes Chad, he gets down on one knee, and hands Meigan a cup of mint chocolate chip ice cream with a rose petal in it (I think that's what Maren made); and on the petal was Meigan's ring. She was shocked.
Here is the video of the big question. In the background
are Eric and also Meigan's parents. And way in the
background is one of Maren's regular customers.

We are happy to welcome Meigan into our family and also her three children, Sydney (11), Mark (9) and Drake (3). I realized tonight that when Maren and Ryan have their baby in July and Chad and Meigan get married, we will have an even dozen of grandchildren. That's so cool!! Congratulations Chad and Meigan--we send you our love and blessing.

What a delightful proposal! Our congratulations to all concerned! This is one they will always enjoy remembering and telling their children about...
Sort of like Mike boarding Susan's plane as it landed in Vegas, and getting aboard and singing "I want to grow old with you" over the PA system, with all of the staff and passengers cheering him on!
