The Pinewood Derby and Rock Band?

Hayes has brought back many scouting memories for me while watching him work on his Pinewood Derby car with his dad. I really don't know how many derby cars were made in this family, but with three boys I can tell you that there were a lot of wood shavings.

Hayes is very much loved by his grandpa because not too many people get to use his tools. There is a sign on the garage door that says "GOT TOOLS? They better not be mine!" Here are a few pictures and videos of Chad and Hayes working together.

I have no idea what tool they are using
Two males hard at work
Kind of looks like Hayes is holding on
for dear life.
It was fun watching them work together.
We moms all know that when it comes to the
Pinewood Derby, there are some jobs that
only dads can do.
Hayes is a great example for Braydon. Someday
he'll get to use papa's tools, too.

This is what Emma and Syd were doing while
Hayes and Chad were working in the garage. Rock
Band is a big thing in this family. The talent goes
from Beaumont all the way over to Vegas. Hey,
maybe America's Got Talent is the place for all
of our grandchildren! Would they share the money
with us? I doubt it, they would spend it all at
Chuck E. Cheese!!

I tried to fix Emma's eyes, but it wouldn't work.
This picture makes her look like some wild
rocker.
Watch how happy Emma is while she plays
the guitar. She really zones into her music.

Now she's really rockin'!!

Eric and I always enjoy having the grandkids at the house. They can sing, play guitar, grind tools, bake cookies, or just play with the toys. Now if we could only get the other four down here--now that would be time to celebrate and have a party!!
