Chad and Meigan are Married!!!!

Last evening, March 12, 2010 was an evening that all will remember as beautiful and filled with love and laughter. Chad and Meigan were married by Eric at 9 PM (I will explain the time in a little bit). Meigan looked so beautiful and so-o-o happy and Chad looked just as happy. You don't say a guy is beautiful, but Chad looked great in his purple shirt and a smile that went from ear to ear. The pictures will tell the story of the evening.

Actually I don't know what happened here. This is the gas lit pit that Chad had made along with the patio. I am thinking they were working on it to get it to light.

There is a traditional saying " The bride should be here a few minutes late for good luck". Well, what happens when it is the mother of the groom that causes the bride to be late? Here's the reason the wedding time turned out to be 9 PM; and therefore, the temperature had dropped down into the high 40's by then. Everybody had been rushing around trying to get everything done for the evening. I went to Katy to pick up Emma and Hayes and left the house at 1:30 which would have gotten us back to Beaumont at about 5:30. Bless the construction workers of America. I was zooming along (doing the speed limit of course) and all of a sudden the traffic comes to a dead stop...ya know...one of those where you turn the car off and people start walking around to see if they can see what the problem is. Braydon was with me because Ryan and Maren both had to work. Bless us all that someone created the Dsi and games galore. Eventually the traffic started to creep a bit and we went 2 miles in 40 minutes.

We got moving and eventually were able to do the speed limit. Alleluia!! But, not for long. To make a long story short--again bless the contruction workers. Once again, the traffic slows down to a snail's pace making us stop again; but at least this time not as long. In my head I am calculating when we should get to Katy. We get moving again, only to be stopped because construction put us in one lane and we crawled along. By then, I am getting into the Friday late afternoon traffic in Houston. Braydon had fallen asleep by then, wish I could have. The traffic on the other side of the freeway was just as bad and I'm thinking "how are we ever going to get back to Beaumont"?

After almost 4 hours of driving, I pick up Emma and Hayes and decided the best thing to do was to go back to Beaumont a different way. The Houston traffic on a Friday at 5:30 was going to be a mess. Heading home, we saw 3 accidents (luckily going West and not East), and we got back to Beaumont at 8:15. Emma, Hayes, and I got dressed faster than anything and headed out to Nederland; and the wedding began at 9 PM.

I should have taken a picture as soon as I had gotten there. Everybody is cuddled up trying to keep warm, and thank the dear men who willingly gave up their suit jackets to their wives so they could keep warm.
