Vacation--Where are We Going?

Awhile back, Eric said he wanted to go to Vancouver, Canada by way of a beautiful highway; one of the most beautiful in the US. He figured we could see Glacier National Park, a beautiful site and then go up into Canada. This sounded like a great trip to me as he wanted to just relax with no immediate goals that we had to be somewhere.

Much to his dismay, he came to me last month and said, "the highway has snow on it in certain parts and they are not going to plow until sometime in June. OK, we needed a Plan B.

Eric looks at the route on his nifty, road planner program on his computer. He said we could probably go to Yellowstone, Yosemite and Old Faithful. I have never been there and it is supposed to be gorgeous--OK, Plan B is planned.

No to Plan B--I-80 is closed because of snow, yes snow in May; can't get through to Yellowstone. OK, so what do we do now. San Diego has always been a place I wanted to see as so many people say how beautiful it is, especially the water. Eric said, "Yeah, we can do that and then drive up to Vegas to see the kids". Finally, our route has been planned.

Not so--Eric found out that I-80 is now open. Repack..as I had taken all the clothing for Yosemite out of the suitcase, put the parka back in the closet, no need for long sleeve shirts...you get the picture.

Repack...Get Parka back out of closet, put long sleeve shirts back in the suitcase, make sure I have warm socks (I don't handle the cold very well and there better be lots of bathrooms along the way because being cold...well, I think most women can understand).

I asked Eric, what are we going to do if I-80 is closed again? Answer..."I don't know, we'll find something else we can get to that is beautiful." OK, I can go with that.

This is probably the most relaxed vacation we have had (although currently I am sitting in the hotel room alone while Eric is at a meeting for Helena). I would take beautiful pictures for you, but no such thing available at the moment.

Where are we going? Have absolutely no idea. I do know eventually we will end up in Vegas. What day? Who knows!! We are winging it this time with no goal in site except Little Maren's softball game. Can't miss that.

Well, away we go...into the snow...I don't know. Yosemite...we shall see...it will be what it will be!!
