Gabi and Braydon had been working very hard to fill up their calendar in January. If they received good marks on each day, they earned a Grandma Day...and we would go and have fun. Since Gabi had no school today, today is the day we picked. The weather was beautiful...in the 70's. Can you believe that after last week we were freezing in the 20's? Here is our day of fun.
We started the day opening goodies
at Grandma's house
Happy faces, I love them

After opening goodies at home, our first stop was at Toys R Us. And stupid Grandma forgot to take pictures at the store. But, they knew immediately what they wanted, so that part of our trip went rather quickly. Our next stop was at McDonald's. Crazy day to go...forgot kids were off of school; and so it was rather busy. And the play area was wild.

We were on our way to Barnes and Noble next (that is one of their favorite stores, glad they love to read or be read to). This tree was right near where we parked. Braydon, being a boy, was already in the tree; and I asked Gabi to get there too. She was so cute as she said, "Grandma, I can't climb that high". I had to explain to her that she only needed to stand on the bottom. She was good with that.

Gabi and Braydon know exactly where the childrens section of Barnes and Noble is and they headed right towards it. Gabi was cute...she knew exactly what book she wanted; she found it and brought it right to me. Now as for Braydon...he is not a decision maker. But, lucky for Grandma I found a section of Pokemon books (I knew it was going to be either that or Ben 10). Here are all the Pokemon books on the floor for Braydon to look through. Smart Gabi realized the books were numbered and so we had to put them in order (my OCD grandchild, don't know where she gets it from!!). Braydon then realized, oh if they are numbered then he should get Books 1 and 2.

Gabi got a little tired of waiting for Braydon to make his decision and she found the book Silverlicious and started to look through the book. Grandma has a soft side (in case nobody knew that) and of course, Silverlicious went home with us.

Yeah!! Braydon decided on Books 1 and 2 and so we were ready to head out of the store.

Gabi knows that this section of the store is hers. She can tell you where any series of books is in the store. She definitely gets her love of reading from her mom.

Next stop, of course, Baskin Robbins. Braydon
always picks Mint Chocolate Chip. Gabi wasn't
sure until she saw her Rainbow Sherbet. Decisions
were made.

These two cousins love being with each other.

And faded in the twilight of Baskin Robbins sit
Braydon and Gabi talking away while they eat their
ice cream.

The day was so much fun and I think after our 4 hour day they were worn out. We went back to the house and they crashed as they watched Alvin and the Chipmunks Valentine's Day. I am glad we chose Valentine's Day. There were hearts everywhere we went and reminded us of the love we have for each other. And believe me, these two really love each other. Oh, and did I tell you I love them so-o-o-o much? I surely do.
I wish we could have taken Syd, Mark and Drake; but the crud hit the family and most of them were sick. So, we will have to make that day another day. Wow, that would be five children. I handled that very well when my five were younger; and I was younger too. Can Grandma handle 5 again? Have to see about that one. Maybe just a trip to Baskin Robbins?
Oh, and as an added feature, here are Marshall, Shannon and baby Kyle on their first Valentine's Day. We brought dinner over to them and had so much fun. That baby just melts my heart.

My little Dallas Cowboys fan.

Being a grandma is a blast and I am so grateful for the fun I had this day with some of the sweet little ones that make me so happy.
