Gabi's Seventh Birthday Parties

Gabi had a very joyful birthday celebrating two times; once with family and once with her friends and cousins. After we had gone to Elise's Place we met everybody at Golden Corral for dinner after which we drove over to Kyle and Holli's for birthday cupcakes.
One cute little 7 year old
Being the Grandma that I am, I gave Holland a cupcake of his very own. There is nothing like a baby chomping away on delicious creamy frosting.
Gabi and Holland both enjoyed the creamy frosting
Now we move on to the next day when Gabi had a roller skating party for her birthday with her friends and cousins. Most of the girls were from Gabi's soccer team. They are tough on the field, but they were a bunch of giddy little divas at the party.
She blew out all the candles
Gabi loved all of her presents and the funniest part was when all the girls would ooh and aah, or they would say "that's not fair I want one of those".

They put skates on little Kyle's feet but he wasn't very fond of them. Uncle Kyle was very kind and lifted him onto the skating floor and took him for a ride around the rink.
The woman in the wheelchair is our friend Trish. When Chad and Kim were involved with the theater back in the days of high school, they met some great friends with the last name of Anderud. Trish was the oldest of the group and when she graduated from college, she became a theater teacher. One day when Trish and her students were practicing for a play, there was something wrong with the air conditioning in the school. Trish went outside to see what was wrong and somehow her leg was pulled into the fan of the air conditioning system. There was no chance but to amputate her leg. The amputation was not something that ever slowed Trish down. She continued teaching, she is married, and her little girl is on Gabi's soccer team. I don't think I have ever met a stronger, more determined person than Trish. While at the skating party, Isabella did not like the skates one bit and would not go out on the skating floor. But Trish, being the fantastic person that she is, had Isabella sit on her lap and they wheeled out together around the rink. Trish would move her arm to the beat of the music and Isabella would laugh and laugh.
Trish was going to tickle Isabella
Look at the joy on both of their faces
We all had a fantastic time watching the little ones skate; yes, and even some of the older folks. Gabi has wonderful friends which doesn't surprise me one bit. Gabi is funny, she is loving and kind; and her friends are drawn to her. We love you Gabi and thank you for sharing your wonderful 7th birthday with us.
