The Children's Museum Houston Texas

Before school started on Monday, we wanted to do something fun together. Gabi and Braydon love being together and they were so excited about going to the Children's Museum in Houston. What a fantastic day we had despite a few downpours while driving to Houston. Maren and I left Beaumont at 10 and were in Houston to meet Kyle and Holli at Wendy's for some lunch before heading to the museum. From the moment Gabi and Braydon saw each other at Wendy's they were attached at the hip. One more car seat was added to my car so that Gabi could be with Braydon for our little trip across town to the museum. We all walked through the door and the fun never stopped.

There are quite a few pictures that I have posted but these pictures tell my dad and also Eric's mom a story of our day together.

The first thing Gabi and Braydon saw was a train that had the inside of an old train. I tried to get a picture of all four of the grandchildren, but they weren't very cooperative. Therefore, I ended up with one of Gabi and Braydon together, one of Braydon, Gabi, and Holland together and one of Gabi and Holland together with Isabella peeking through the window (Isabella wouldn't go inside).

Gabi was so anxious to get onto this seat that you get to raise by pulling on a rope with knots attached to it to grab onto so you would go up in the air. Gabi tried with all of her might, but she didn't have the strength to lift her own weight. Isabella wanted to try it, but all she was able to do was sit on the seat.

There were so many scientific things for the kids to try hands on. Riding the bike and lighting up the lightbulbs taught them the power of the wheel.

Isabella cracked me up at this display. Each box had something in it and you were to put your hand in it to see if you could guess what was inside. Isabella figured it was easier to just open the window on the box and look inside.
Now it was time to test the strength of the girls. They truly impressed me especially Isabella. In a few years I think the boys better look out for this little girl. She will probably be able to put up a good fight. Of course, Gabi is right there with her. What a pair they will make.

There were areas to make crafts and all the supplies were there that the kids needed to make rockets, airplanes, butterflies..and we even made a few inventions of our own.
Braydon, Maren and Isabella played with the Legos. They were able to put together cars and then race them down a track.
After Isabella and Holland had played in the toddler section (I will post those pictures on another blog posting), Holland was totally worn out. Watch Holland's eyes in the next three pictures.
Gabi wanted to make a butterfly out of the paper cups and the pipe cleaners. She finally looked at me and said, "Grandma can you help me make a butterfly. I did help her and somehow she disappeared before the job was done. Wish I had a picture of my beautiful butterfly. So creative.
Yes, Uncle Kyle was lending Braydon a hand on making a special rocket that worked like a sling shot.
