Happy Birthday Emma "Louise" (that's Maren's pet name for Emma).
The day started off with a dinner at Los Cucos, Emma's favorite Mexican Restaurant for Fajitas. There is a tradition there for birthdays. When you view the video, you will see what the tradition is.
We then headed back to Emma's for birthday cake and presents.
and I expected the funny face from him.
frosting job and Maren's talented cake decorating
that she does so well. Hayes wanted to know if
it was an ice cream cake from Baskin-Robbins where
Maren works in Beaumont. Uh, Hayes, I carried that
cake on my lap the entire 110 miles. Ice cream just
wasn't going to make it.
just didn't have any matches to light them. So Braydon
helped Emma blow out the "flowers" on the cake.
She is definitely a teenager now and loves new clothes,
jewelry, and shoes; but no matter how old this
little girl gets, she still loves going out on dates with
her dad. She will be enjoying that birthday present
on Saturday.
teenager, I don't know what does. Emma's cell
phone had broken and she needed to wait until
we got her fixed one back to her. Yesterday was
the day and it kept her busy. She has her mom's
phone so she can copy phone numbers into her phone
while she is talking on my cell phone to Uncle Kyle
and Gabi (they called for Emma's birthday). How is
that for multitasking.!!
I watch these grandchildren grow up so quickly and I wonder where all my little babies have gone. With all the turmoil and garbage in the world, I just pray that their lives will stay based on
the values the gospel of Jesus Christ teaches them.

Wow! Emma looks so happy! That's awesome. And, I thought the cake looked great!
My cake better look awesome. And I like ice cream cake, well ice cream in the form of a cake. (don't like the cake part) I like the cakes that have the fudge and the nuts, minus the nuts, add color sprinkles! I love the fact that I will have my birthday in Texas again. I'm not ready to give up my Texas roots.
