The New and Improved Playhouse

Kyle called today and asked if I could watch Gabi for a little while because Holli had some interviews to get done for VIP magazine. They arrived here around noon. Gabi walks in the house and I expected this great big "Grandma I'm here". But, what do I see and hear? Gabi walks into the family room and says "Where's Braydon?" I asked Gabi if she came here to be with me or to play with Braydon. You guessed it--she said she came to play with Braydon. So, in the car we went and picked up Braydon. Those two are hilarious to watch when they play. Their imaginations start working and off they go.

At first, it was pouring out all the Littlest Pet Shop figurines. But, those two are much more imaginative than that. It was time to play house. Now, what they really need is a tree house or a playhouse in my backyard. But, that's not going to happen due to the fact that two hurricanes hit and you no longer have trees. A playhouse? No way, not in my yard. You never know what might just take up housing in there (like snakes, mice or maybe even a possum). The next best thing? Look at the pictures and you will see.

Gabi and Braydon were so excited when I told them
they could "build" their playhouse behind the couch.
If you notice what is on the sheet, you can see
that our grandchildren are a "72 hour kit" prepared
set of grandchildren. Camera? Yup. Cell phone?
Yup. Flashlight, with batteries? Yup. Activities
for the children? Yup. Dishes? Yup. They even
remembered to bring the kids with them!

Of course, you can't have a playhouse without
a DVD player. Ah, modern technology. We are
so blessed. But, who is watching the babies they
brought with them?

"We are supposed to watch our babies? What
about lunch?" Yep, they even found a corner
to be their "dining room". They are eating
what every prepared person has in their 72 hour
kit. Frozen kolaches heated up in the
microwave.

It's OK mom and dad we are keeping an eye
on the babies, too!

Ya know, if you are going to watch a movie
in the playhouse on the portable DVD player,
the best thing to do is to move it to the best seat
in the house. A plastic box. Who needs a
couch?

It was a fun day and they really had such a good time using their imagination to play house. And, the day wouldn't have been complete without:

Cookies served on our very own kid sized tupperware!!!

Man, that does look like fun! :) I'm glad they had a good time. Gabi sure loves to play with Braydon. With other kids, I don't think she is her "full self." (Which some might say is a good thing. :-)

How fun!

Rondi, I say this over and over again ... but ... truly these grandmother years are GRAND! I'm loving it equally as much as you are! And if you're like me ... who cares if toys are all around! And why is it those grandchildren can play and leave stuff ... and no one gets in trouble? LOL

Awe ... the wonderful seasons of our lives! :)

And men turn into new beings when they become a grandpa. Eric comes home from work and sees all of their creativity and it is absolutely fine. We mellow with age for sure.
