A Day by the Bay

As you know I have been in New York, on Long Island for the past 10 days so that I could see my mom who is dying of pancreatic and liver cancer. One afternoon my sister took me to a little town next to Southold (where they live) because there was something I was looking for. We decided to go down to the water and walk the boardwalk a little bit. The picture above is of a seagull which is made out of metal. Kind of cool.

These are a few of the boats we saw. Actually
people will use them to go back and forth to
Connecticut and other places.
The sky was crystal clear blue and the water
was so still. The town of Southold is very busy
during the Summer as many people love the
water and the boats.
Ok, so I was thinking of maybe purchasing
this boat; however I don't know who owns this
yacht (the big boat)!
But, then I saw this one and thought,
"Now, that's a boat? A home on the
water? A very large play house on
the water?" I wish you could really see how
large this boat is. Think Tiger Woods and his
yacht. Have you ever seen it? I think it is
parked in Greenport, NY!
This is the sunset sky over the bay in
Southold. The sky looks like it is on fire.
I wish I had the right kind of camera to take
pictures at night. It would have come out
better. And the sky? Because it is so dark at
Phyllis' house (there are no street lights), you can
see so many stars in the darkened sky. Real country
out here. And no mosquitoes!!! Well, I only
have a Canon so I can't show you a picture of the
sky.
I will miss this place. It's country and so many beautiful creations in this little town. During the summer, it is busy, busy. Try to get a hotel...No Vacancies or if there is one, they start at say, $169 a night up to $225 a night. Heck, that's my groceries for the month! In the winter, the town is just about shut down, well the little craft shops and candy stores. So, if you have a lot of money and you want to go someplace beautiful, with lots of water surrounding you and beautiful starlit skies, come to Greenport or Southold in Long Island. But, you better book your hotel about a year before you go.
