Dangerous Dinosaurs

Saturday, Maren and I took Braydon and Gabi to the dinosaur show at Ford Park Arena. We didn't think Isabella would make it through seeing large, dangerous, and roaring dinosaurs. Thank you Kyle and Holli for keeping her in your safe hands. The four of us had a blast. There was quite a crowd at the display, and I do have to say that Braydon and Gabi were so patient waiting for their turn to interact with the dinosaur displays.

Whoever designed this whole set up for the kids was very smart and kid savvy. They designed a paper so that the kids could go on a scavenger hunt. Gabi and Braydon were so excited to be able to find the dinosaurs that matched the names on their papers. In order to find the correct dinosaur that would fit the nick name of the dinosaur, they had to read (with a little help from Aunt Maren) the information that was displayed by the dinosaur. They found all the correct answers and were quite proud of their "paleontology" findings.

Braydon and Gabi as we first entered
I don't know why Braydon and Gabi aren't smiling
I promise you that Gabi had a great time
One of the smaller dinosaurs
Brushing sand off the fossils

I love hugs
Maren always makes things fun
Gabi was happy to put her hand into the mouth of a smaller dinosaur
I think Braydon takes after his mama
These two were always busy finding clues for the scavenger hunt
If there is cotton candy, Gabi and Braydon are there
The end of our time with the dinosaurs
There were other dinosaur activities you could take part in (a mini golf set up...more like putting greens, a bounce zone, riding a dinosaur, face painting just to name a few) but the tickets were 12 for $20 and each activity was 3 tickets. The lines were so long. Maren came up with a great idea and I told her to pass it by Gabi and Braydon and let them make the choice. Do we wait on line forever and spend $40 for a few minutes of fun or take them somewhere to eat and then head to Target? Immediately we heard "TARGET!!" We headed out and went to the mall to eat (Gabi has been converted to the delicious taste of Teriyaki Chicken); and with full stomachs, we headed to Target. Both the kids knew what they wanted and I think it is the fastest trip in and out of the toy department ever. And with $25 in gift cards that I had collected through the past couple of months, we were able to spend much less money than having our faces painted at the dinosaur show.

Our next big summer activity probably in July...the Children's Museum. We can take Isabella to that one as there are no huge, roaring dinosaurs.
