Hurricane Ike, What was it Like?

Our first stop while evacuating for Hurricane Ike--Pensacola, FL.
Although the storm was 250 miles from Pensacola, the tide was
way above normal and we had fun going down to the shore to see the
waves crashing in.

We enjoyed the splashing water, getting wet and laughing.
There comes a time when you have to put your worries aside
and just have a great time.
When you evacuate you have to have Double Stuff Oreos
and a glass of milk to wash your cares away.
And little ones have to keep in touch with their favorite friends.
If you can't get a hold of Gabi, then you talk to Chuck E. Cheese on the phone.

Loved ones help us survive and laugh despite the hardship of Ike.
Great Maw Maw plays hockey with Braydon on the "ice" of Hudson, FL.
What little boy doesn't get excited when he can sit
in a boat and pretend he is a pirate!
Even grown children will become little children when given the chance.
Maren goes down the slide head first with Braydon helping to pull her out of the slide.
And the zoo--another favorite place for young and old alike.
After a hot day at the zoo, every little boy enjoys the water.
Braydon turns 3 years old. Great Maw Maw, Maw Maw and Maren
help Braydon to celebrate.
Braydon's favorite part of the trip. Riding on Great Maw Maw's golf cart.
Can you tell Grandma's just about had it? I have gone bonkers!!!!

Well, that's a little bit of our evacuation. When we get back home tomorrow, hopefully I will have my internet connection and can add a little bit more of the story. But for now, enjoy the photos!!
