Have you ever noticed the track a hurricane takes? It is never in a straight line. The course it takes zig zags back and forth. The line goes up, the line goes down, it goes west, it goes northwest, and any other direction it wants to take.
Have you ever noticed when we are waiting for a hurricane to hit, our lives zig zag all over the place, too? Our emotions are on a high, then they sink to a low, then we go sideways because we don't know which way we are going.
As I thought about this, I remembered in the scriptures when it talks about the Liahona. Not only was it a compass for those in the wilderness; it is likened to a compass in our lives. The compass is the Holy Ghost. As long as our lives are in tune with the gospel of Jesus Christ, the Holy Ghost will never lead us astray. We may have our ups and downs emotionally, but the direction from the Lord is always a strait and narrow path. It isn't a crooked one or one that keeps changing direction. We will never be led astray (as we are so often by these darn meteorologists).
Life might be a hurricane, but the Lord will direct our path for good.
