I am Part of the Cast Once Again

Well, Marshall Hayes, bless his heart, tried to get me out of the cast and into the boot so our trip to Utah and Nevada would be a little more comfortable. However, by Tuesday late afternoon I knew this boot thing was not going to work. My foot moved around too much and it was painful to walk on it. With all that we have planned, like waiting on line to get into the conference center, I didn't know how I was going to do it. I told Eric about it not knowing that Tuesday evening he had an interview with Marshall Hayes for church. Eric told him about my problems with the boot and Marshall told him that an injury like mine really belongs in a cast for 6 weeks, then a boot for 2 weeks and then an ankle brace. I talked to Marshall and being his usual comical self he said to me "what about the spirit of discernment?" (Chad on Thursday said to me that he should have said what about the spirit of dishurtment-pretty clever Chad). I knew I belonged back in the cast.

So, Wednesday afternoon I made another trip to Marshall's office and on went a new cast (I think I really have the girl that does the casts totally confused-she told the girls at the office that she was pretty sure I was the one that she had just taken the cast off of the day before). This time the color is black as I decided black goes with everything. Eric said my leg looks like it is in mourning. No, that just represents my feelings as I had no intentions of having all this fun with Kim and the kids in a cast. Now, I am really limited as to how long we can walk around and have fun.

Oh, and I have a twin friend--Jill is in a black cast too. She has a stress fracture on her left foot. She is working on the Scarlet Pimpernell (I don't know if that is spelled right) so she is part of two casts now.

You know that old saying "An apple a day keeps the doctor away"? It isn't true. I have been eating an apple a day for three weeks straight now (even longer actually) and it didn't keep the doctor or the cast away. I am heading for the chocolate!!

Oh....the Marshall jokes go through both of our families!! I didn't know Chad got it too! And you with your, "she is part of two casts now!" Love it! I'm so glad you went with black this time, although I loved the pink, because it will "match" more things. Hope you have a fun trip!!
