After we checked into the hotel, we stopped at a place that had frozen custard. I haven't had frozen custard since the last time we had visited my parents in New Jersey. This place doesn't know the meaning of the word "small".
Kim loving her "small" chocolate treat (she
doesn't need to diet)
We made it to the program Friday night early enough that we were able to get great seats. Do you think we look like mom and daughter?! (Kim's the skinnier, younger version)

On the way back to the hotel, we had an interesting experience. Kim's GPS started going whacko. It would tell her to turn right, and that would have put us right onto a baseball field. We would drive a different direction, the GPS tells us to turn, and it is an alley. No way do we go down the alley. In Utah, the main streets are number streets--700 West or 400 East, etc. Her GPS starts talking mumbo jumbo and then would say "zero zero". Well, Kim has her dad's sense of direction (thank goodness she doesn't have mine or we would be on the baseball field). We ended up by the St. George temple. It was beautiful with the lights shining on it at night. And from there, Kim was able to find our hotel.
We have known Kenneth Cope for over 20 years. Time and distance has not changed our relationship with Kenneth. He is an amazing singer and songwriter, and many of his songs made me cry. Broken Things to Mend is one of my very favorites. And, at this time of my life, it gives me the strength to keep going every day. Kenneth knows what I have been going through, and he knows it is my favorite song. He sang the song during the program, and being that we were on the end of row 3, he just about sang that song straight into my eyes. Yes, and there were tears.
Well, all good things must come to an end. We hated to see this great event come to an end. We were uplifted by so many great speakers and the word of the Lord. I don't know the last time or even if there was a time that Kim and I had "Time Out" for the two of us. We laughed so much, we cried together, and loved every minute we had together. We are going to try and see if we can go to the "Time Out" in Plano, Texas next year and have Maren go with us and share the love.
