Decisions to Make and Fun to Have

As I had said in my other blog, sometimes plans just don't work out. Once again, there was a change in plans. The spirit speaks to us in many ways; and when two people come up with the same decision without first discussing it with each other, you know what you are supposed to do. Both of us knew that there was no way we had enough time after the Saturday afternoon session of conference for Eric to drop me back at the hotel and then get back to the conference center in time for Priesthood session. I wanted him to go to the Priesthood session and we would just watch the other sessions on TV in the hotel room. But, he wanted to be with family and not alone at the Conference Center. There was only one thing left to do; and that was to pack up our things and head to Vegas to be with Kim and Rich and the grandchildren.

The pictures below show you the ever changing weather and scenery on the way. But, the best part of the trip was seeing Rich's face when he opened the front door of their house. He said, "Wow, now that's what I call a surprise." The twins saw us and right away knew that Grandma and Papa had come to their house. Kaylin and Maren came downstairs but knew from our voices that we were here. Kim wasn't home, but when she drove up and saw the car in the driveway, she couldn't believe we were here.

We are happy with the decision we made and are loving being here. The twins keep us laughing, Rich is nothing but a brat, Kaylin and Maren are getting so tall and grown up, and Kim and I are just loving being together and watching Janette Oke movies on the Hallmark channel. Family is everything, and we are looking forward to our days here in Henderson, NV.

The scenery in Utah is amazing. We go from
snow covered mountains, to red rock, to these
majestic mountains.

More of God's Majestic beauty.

Does it make you wonder what show Eric and
Rich are watching? Dora the Explorer.
Kaylin and Blake at the table waiting for us to
continue our Canasta game.

Jocie and Blake playing in the water.

Sorry, this photo should be at the top but I
am still learning how to download these. This
was from our trip out of Salt Lake close to Beaver
in Utah. You can tell we are Texans by the
excitement over a little snow.

I'm with you... playing it safe on the roads. 6 years later, and I still haven't gotten used to it. I'm still a Texas driver in the snow--slow and steady. Glad you got to see some white stuff!
